Entry to the Good Retail Awards 2021 is completely free.

Winners receive industry recognition, a trophy, and a huge amount of positive PR across Modern Retail, Spring Fair, our social media channels and the wider retail industry.

Our judges are looking for positive innovations in retail that benefit both retailers and their customers. That could be through strategy, creativity, the use of technology or otherwise.

Sustainability Initiative Award

Last year’s winner: Wild About Flowers

This award recognises retailers that have successfully implemented sustainability initiatives within their business over the last year. These may include some of the below: 

  • Material or packaging substitution
  • Reducing carbon footprint
  • Working towards a circular economy
  • Encouraging staff to recycle, reduce and reuse
  • Localised sourcing 

Instore Creativity Award

Last year’s winner: Ironbridge Candle Company

This award recognises retailers who have implemented an instore design that delivers a stand-out customer experience. It will focus on retailers who have used innovation to drive more customers into their store and increase customer satisfaction over the past year. The winner of this award will have reinvented the traditional meaning of a retail store to connect with their customers. 

Community Award

in association with Spring Fair’s #InspiredByKindness initiative, encouraging you to share your stories, advice, words of positivity and challenges with the retail community. Spring Fair offer their platforms to you, helping to support your business, celebrate your brilliant work and inspire others with your kindness.

Last year’s winner: The Old Moat Garden Centre & Café

The Community Award is open to retailers who have made an effort to give back to their community over the last 12 months. It honours companies who have gone above and beyond to transform and enhance the lives of others. Retailers shortlisted for this award will be able to demonstrate how they have made an impact and show the results they have delivered.  

Bricks ‘n’ Clicks Award

Last year’s winner: Harts of Stur

The Bricks ‘n’ Clicks Award recognises retailers who have utilised both online and offline channels to create a seamless customer experience over the course of the last year. Retailers shortlisted for this category will recognise the importance of integrating all of their customer-facing platforms, both physical and digital, into a true omnichannel offering.

Digital Impact Award 

Last year’s winner: CuparNow

This award is open to retailers who are using the digital space to create engaging and innovative marketing campaigns over the last 12 months. It will include retailers making a strong impact anywhere in the digital space including on their website, via email marketing and across social media.

Retail District Award 

Last year’s winner: Greenwich Market

With Covid-19 creating such a huge challenge for the High Street in 2020, The Retail District Award is open to any retail area that has gone the extra mile in supporting its stores this year. This could be through producing innovative campaigns or exciting customer-centric initiatives. Entrants for this award may include:

  • High streets, 
  • Shopping centres, 
  • Retail parks, 
  • Business Improvement Districts,
  • Local chambers of commerce
