Wunderkind scales in Europe as it launches Dutch HQ

Wunderkind

Wunderkind, the leading performance marketing engine that powers personalisation at scale for online brands and retailers, has scaled its operations in Europe with the opening of its Dutch HQ in Amsterdam.

With more than 800 employees worldwide and a global turnover of over $100million, Wunderkind’s presence in the Netherlands, where it will expand headcount by 150% in the next 12 months, is the next step in its Europe expansion plans.  Already established in the U.S. and UK markets, and currently working with 1,200 customers globally including Clarins, Clarks, Hello Fresh and SONOS, the performance-driven marketing solution for online retailers will roll-out into numerous markets, including France, Germany and the Nordics, in the coming 18 months.

Wunderkind’s Europe-wide expansion comes at a critical time for online retailers, as Wouter Koch, Country Manager, Netherlands at Wunderkind, explained: “The online advertising landscape is changing rapidly. Traditional performance marketing channels are under pressure due to rising costs, stricter privacy regulations, and because tracking cookies will disappear next year. As a result, online retailers are getting less and less value from their paid marketing channels, and growth is becoming more difficult to realise.”

Focusing on opt-in, first-party data and own channel optimisation, Wunderkind will help European retailers realise up to 10 percent extra online revenue, typically placing among its customers’ top three highest-performing paid marketing channels.

In addition to its European growth, Wunderkind has expanded its operations in the UK, doubling its London HQ headcount in the last 12 months.

Wunderkind has also added several high-profile figureheads to its Retail Advisory Board, a collective of industry-leading experts who have been brought together to consult on sector-defining topics and best practice in order to add value, both to Wunderkind’s customers, and in terms of its evolving tech offering. These include Patrick Lewis, former CFO of John Lewis & Partners; Sanne Krom, ex PUMA and Tommy Hilfiger (PVH) exec; Sarah Curran-Usher MBE, NED at French Connection and MD EMEA at True Fit; and Nathalie du Preez, VP of Operations at Jellyfish.

Wulfric Light-Wilkinson, General Manager at Wunderkind International, commented: “The opening of our Dutch HQ and the strategic appointments we have made to our Advisory Board are significant milestones for Wunderkind. We’re looking forward to introducing our game-changing performance channel to a new raft of retail market leaders, and welcoming local digital talent to our rapidly growing team.”
