Sustainability within third party logistics

Abstrakt

Enhance your sustainability process by partnering with a 3pl supply chain, such as Abstrakt

In today’s market, fuel prices have reached all time new highs which are determining dispatch prices on our client’s fulfilment, despite the ecommerce sector thriving overall, daily consumers are tightening their belts and a good service and timely delivery is crucial.

Green delivery is front of mind when working with our clients and therefore it is important that not only are our couriers “greener” but also ensuring the whole supply chain is taking the necessary steps for a greener and more sustainable practice.

One of our long-standing partners – DPD, are leading the way with their fantastic ambitions in planning for a greener future by not only increasing their electric vehicle fleet, but also looking at reducing their demand on the grid, lowering their consumption elsewhere to charge their vehicles at their own sites. Additionally, they’re also reaching out to stakeholders such as manufacturers, local and national governments, utilities sector to work together in making this happen.

At Abstrakt, for over 30 years, we maintain great working relationships with our courier partners, especially DPD. Further sustainable practices that we do here at Abstrakt are using paper infill wherever possible despite the rise in costs in packaging materials, and so encouraging recycling at every possible opportunity.

Our warehouse uses efficient forms of energy usage such as sensory LED lighting and the entire site is heated by a certified BSL biomass system which ensures that the woodchip is responsibly sourced. An initiative laid out by the government, which is carbon neutral, sustainable, renewable and reduces emissions by up to 96%.

Abstrakt is ISO 14001 certified which is an environmental credential, and we ensure we are doing our part in minimising our impact on the environment.
