A new multi-billion dollar sleep industry is emerging

The growing problem of sleep deprivation opens a wide range of attractive market opportunities for both private equity investors and consumer-oriented companies.

Multiple reports have shown that lack of sleep leads to physical and mental health problems as well as loss of productivity. A recent report published by Public Health England and the BITCshows that the lost sleep costs the UK over £30 billion a year.

The Great British Bedtime report revealed that almost a third of us (30%) getting a poor sleep most nights. The top three reasons remain the same as 2013: stress and worry (45% vs 53%), partner disturbance (25%); and noise (20% vs 18%).

In response to this, we have launched SOMNEX | The Sleep Show, the first ever exhibition dedicated to sleep-health.
